At Prochant, we take pride in our nearshore Engagement Services office in Guyana, where we provide high-quality, scalable patient and referral calling services for home-based care providers. A key factor in our ability to scale effectively is the Guyanese government’s commitment to workforce development, particularly its investment in skills training programs. These initiatives not only enhance the country’s talent pool but also align with Prochant’s mission to drive operational excellence through skilled professionals.
Government Initiatives Driving Workforce Development
The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security has recently launched a transformative skills training initiative aimed at empowering 500 women across Guyana. Facilitated through the Women’s Innovation and Investment Network (WIIN) in collaboration with the Guyana Women’s Leadership Institute (GWLI), this initiative is designed to provide women with the skills and confidence to pursue economic opportunities and achieve financial independence.
WIIN is one of several programs supporting Guyanese women across the country’s 10 Administrative Regions. To date, it has trained and empowered thousands of women across a variety of professions. Beyond training and certification, WIIN also offers a micro-enterprise development component, helping participants transition into small business ownership through business clinics and startup support.
Another key objective of WIIN is to ensure that program graduates have access to crucial resources such as startup capital, further enhancing their ability to succeed in entrepreneurship or employment. By the end of 2024, the government trained 2,370 women, provided business clinic opportunities to 3,000 participants and distributed 1,161 business startup kits.
Women Leading the Way in Prochant’s Engagement Services
Women comprise more than half of Guyana’s population, making their role in the workforce essential to the country’s economic growth. At our Engagement Services office, we are proud to report that 86% of our workforce is comprised of women. This aligns with the government’s broader efforts to empower women through skills training, mentoring and business support programs. In the first half of 2024 alone, 510 women received training through WIIN and the Board of Industrial Training (BIT), enhancing their employability and professional growth.
Moreover, women in Guyana are increasingly stepping into leadership roles and securing financial independence through initiatives like the WIIN business incubator, which has supported over 100 women with mentoring, coaching and entrepreneurship guidance this year.
The Impact on Prochant’s Engagement Services
The government’s investment in workforce training directly benefits our operations. As more individuals gain business skills, we can continue to expand our service capabilities while maintaining the high standards that define Prochant’s revenue cycle management solutions. The availability of a trained workforce ensures that we can scale efficiently to meet the growing needs of our home-based care clients.
Additionally, these programs contribute to economic empowerment and job creation in Guyana, fostering a stable and motivated workforce that drives innovation and productivity.
A Future of Growth and Opportunity
As Guyana continues to invest in workforce development, Prochant is well-positioned to leverage these advancements to strengthen our Engagement Services team. We celebrate the government’s commitment to skills training, especially in supporting women’s career growth, and look forward to seeing the lasting impact of these initiatives on our team and the broader community.
