The Prochant team was thrilled to attend the 2025 NICA Annual Conference, held June 20–21 in Miami, Florida. Represented by Lee Pratt, Gabby Whitmire and Jason Dillon, we spent two energizing days engaging with infusion pharmacy professionals and walked away with fresh insights and new connections.
Our booth quickly became a hub for conversation and collaboration. We had the pleasure of speaking with infusion leaders, ambulatory infusion center (AIC) providers and industry innovators about the most pressing challenges and exciting opportunities in the infusion pharmacy space. One lucky attendee even went home with our collector’s bottle of Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon, a crowd-favorite raffle prize that added a fun twist to a packed agenda.
Key Takeaways from NICA 2025
As always, the conference delivered practical insights and forward-looking perspectives. Here are the top themes that stood out in our conversations:
- Collaboration and Advocacy Are Essential
Many providers emphasized the increasing importance of collaboration – whether it’s engaging with policymakers, joining industry coalitions or building strategic partnerships. Advocacy is no longer a side effort; it’s a core component of sustaining access and driving innovation in the infusion space.
- HIT-AIC is the Future
The shift away from hospital-based infusion toward home infusion therapy and AICs continues to gain momentum. With patient preference, cost containment and operational flexibility driving this trend, providers are doubling down on expanding HIT-AIC models to meet the demand for accessible, patient-centered care.
- Technology as a Competitive Imperative
Across the board, leaders stressed that technology isn’t just a nice-to-have. Rather, it’s a must-have. From revenue cycle management tools to data-driven analytics and workflow automation, the ability to harness tech effectively separates those who thrive from those who fall behind.
- Sustainable Growth Strategies
The trend toward AIC expansion and multi-location growth remains strong. From navigating compliance requirements to ensuring a consistent patient experience across sites, building scalable infrastructure is critical to long-term success.
- The Work Behind the Scenes
Starting or scaling an AIC isn’t just about clinical care; it requires significant upfront investment in staffing, systems, and financial planning. Many leaders emphasized the importance of getting it right on the front end to avoid costly setbacks later.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn, share and contribute to the ongoing transformation of the infusion industry. If we missed you at the event, or you’re ready to talk about how Prochant can support your organization’s growth and performance, we’d love to connect.
